Dude, I've seen it, many times. I watched it on VHS after it came out and owned a copy until DVD came out. I just watched it last night because it had been too long since I had last seen it. My comment only meant that the link didn't have a documentary (which was in the title of your post). That's all I meant. The movie is visionary and it's hard to believe it ever got made, but it's probable the only reason it was made was because it was based on the short story "Eight O'Clock in the Morning" by Ray Faraday Nelson. Carpenter likely pitched it as an alien invasion story based on a science fiction story and the jews he sold it to took it at face value. Of course, it was SO MUCH MORE than that.

I think I need to read that story now, just like it's useful to read other stories good science fiction movies were based on. One I recommend is the Philip K. Dick short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale", which was made into "Total Recall", the first (and good) version. I'd recommend other stories of Dick's such as "The Minority Report" and "Paycheck" that were unfortunately made into terrible movies.
