Some Chinese 10thce records do state some Mongolians did indeed have grey(light blue), green and hazel eyes, the only group outside Western Europeans to have this trait. It is found ont he HERC2 gene, a hereditary trait that came about from as a gene mutation resultant from poor diet. It is uncommon but can be seen with groups from Kyrgyz (Uzbeks), Mongolians, and Kazakhs bordering on the Siberian plains.
The Scythians stopped existing as an ethnic group that inhabited that exact same area, by the 6BCE as a result of getting mud flooded and getting absorbed into larger ethnic groups.
