Common sugar substitute linked to increased risk of heart attack and stroke

The safety of sugar substitutes is once again being called into question.

Researchers led by the Cleveland Clinic linked the low-calorie sugar substitute xylitol to an increased risk of heart attack, stroke or cardiovascular-related deaths, according to a study published today in the European Heart Journal.

Oh yes that Old sugar lobby at it again. Trying to scare you so that you go back to eating sugar cuz so many people are throwing it off that it's destroying the industry.


You'll notice in this article at least they definitely say correlation does not equal causation and that the xylitol and the people's blood that they measured that causes double the risk of heart attack or stroke was all naturally occurring and measured after a period of fasting.


In other words it had nothing to do with eating additional xylitol.

In fact xylitol naturally occurring is related to highly necessary mechanism called a blood clotting. And since so many people die from having strokes related to leaky brain bleeding and other issues it could be argued that while they may have measured heart attack and stroke there are other things that could be equally as important that are beneficial from xylitol that they didn't measure.


By the way they've been a lot of studies out that show that chewing gum with xylitol can actually cause your mouth to grow new enamel and literally fill in and cure cavities and other problems with teeth. So this may be the dental industry trying to discourage dial because it will put them out of business.


By the way fruit sugar is the most rapidly transformed sugar in the body to fat and high levels of eating any kind of sugar are much worse than high levels of eating sugar substitutes. High levels of eating sugar lead to arterial clogging and blocking and diabetes and other horrible things which kill more people then all the results of eating sugar substitutes combined.
