The US government has provided more detail on how a former AT&T executive allegedly bribed a powerful state lawmaker's ally in order to obtain legislation favorable to AT&T's business.

Former AT&T Illinois President Paul La Schiazza is set to go on trial in September 2024 after being indicted on charges of conspiracy to unlawfully influence then-Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan. AT&T itself agreed to pay a $23 million fine in October 2022 in connection with the alleged illegal influence campaign and said it was "committed to ensuring that this never happens again."

Indeed. In a just society those responsible would be plublicly hanged or wood chippered, and the extended family sterilized. This is America, though. These crimials will control our destiny and we will forget about their incomprehensively huge crimes.

I mean, we are currently bitching about this much being laundered through Ukrainian and Israeli excuses now- who the fuck remembers that just as much (far more, mind you, with inflation) was launderened to this one company in the 90s? No one. Our money is worthless, yet it will be drained from us at all cost, and few will remember it, fewer will know why, and fewer will know it even happened.
