It’s always difficult for the native people being replaced to see and understand what is happening until it is too late.

This isn’t anything new.

Lombardia, in Italy, is named after the Lombard tribe that invaded in about 600AD, not for any of the Italians who lived there.

It happened again when Europeans invaded North America and displaced the American Indians.

The Arabs living in Palestine at the beginning of the 20th Century had no idea that by the end of it, they would be almost entirely pushed out by recent immigrants from Eastern Europe.

It surely doesn't help when a hostile foreign power is in control of the government, institutions, and media, and hates the very existence of current majority population with every fibre of their being.

The choice is: Either learn to hate them back just as much, and be willing to act on that in any way that you can, or say goodbye.
