I've been getting into studying the history of the state of Texas as a side hobby. The stories of frontier bravery and victory in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds by the Anglo and Germanic settlers is truly inspiring.
One recurring theme throughout this was the brutality of the mexican people. The mexican state in and of itself was founded due to racial conflict between the increasingly mestizo-mizxed native population and the Spanish government. Even at this point in the 1800s Mexico was very much a nation of kalergi mutts.
After battles in European conflicts, it is typically military tradition in European conflicts to have a sense of humanity and take the other side prisoner instead of killing them after surrender. Even the "evil nazis" and even to some extent the Japanese did this.
Not the Mexicans. General Fanin and his men were hopelessly outnumbered and outgunned in the battle of Goliad. Seeing the futility of continuing, general Fanin negotiated a surrender in which they'd give up their arms and be allowed to walk free. The mexican general agreed, but soon was given orders to slaughter the white Texans down to the last man woman and child. They saved general Fanin for last, forcing him to watch all his men being executed before him.
This act was an evil attempt to stamp out the fighting spirit of the white man, but it actually had the opposite effect. The martyrdom of general Fanin and his men became a rallying cry for the Texan troops and in the end the mestizo spics got their asses handed to them.
This is why I cant support being buddy-buddy with mixed race folk such as @Rotteuxx . When they want something, all the pretend civility they had adopted in order to fit in with white society goes out the window. Any native mixed "white people" are as good as the savages they're bred with.
