10-15 years ago, I recall, this image was featured on reddit and one of top comments, if not thee top comment, was 'the longer I stare the better it gets.'
Can't tell if this comment has grown to become apart of the meme, like "waterworld was a stupid movie" or, later, the oft-said "waterworld was an underappreciated movie." The former being a disingenuous assessment but repeated anyway in social jest, the latter being more honest; but also a regurgitation in its' own right.

If bots are scrubbing the internet obtaining comments to re-post, which is a phenomenon people started noticing about 6 years ago. They are so effective that it shows up in echoed in various corners of the internet, masquerading as our own commentary. This shaping of "water-cooler talk" is so effective that the effects must feel organic to the speaker and are still felt decades later.
