Putin is the leader of Russia, in a sense is Russia, especially given his prominence as being widely seen as the most skilled operator on earth to those who are into this stuff, and he is the longest serving Russian leader since Joseph Stalin... but these South Africans love Russia. The USSR airlifted the ANC leadership to Moscow when they were down and out and even Africans wanted them to get lost. You think gratitude extending back to the 60s is reducible to Putin?
