Every year except 2018 and 2019, otherwise, losses. It only had profitability for 2 years. Read slower.
Youtube generates 15 billion a year in revenue, that's after payments to creators. 10% of El Goog's revenue. They also draw in creators to use and even pay for other services. It's why YT is dethroneable. Twitter has no other services for this effect. They need straight money. Does Google as a whole lose money? Oh no? What a poor comparison. Twitter has 1 product, Alphabet has many. They take a loss (maybe) in a division to prop up the others with the knock-on effect of already having a YT account.
They have issues with the EU certainly coming up, advertisers have clearly backed out, Tik Tok and Insta are becoming more influential everyday. If TT gets banned then Youtube shorts wins. The TT people are already there in preparation. It's like he bought myspace, I see the exact same scenario playing out. all I see is scam ads. I just keep making popcorn.
