This is an anecdote. Take me word for it. Or dont. Either way, this is my rant.

Colleague has a brain stroke. Out of the blue.Late 40s early 50s. No health conditions. Forgets how to speak, loses control of her left side. 5 days later. New stroke. Dead.

Mother gets jab. nth zabooster. Myasthenia Gravis. Goes to hospital for blood dialysis, contracts COvid, they lock her up for 10 days, then she gets her dialysis and is let go. Is numb, slurs, constant pain.

Worst of all...

Father in Law.

See him, cloudy thoughts as fuck. He drove and is a miracle he did not crash. Situation getting worse and worse quickly.

I see him second time, he does nothing but moan loudly all day, unable to walk. Falls, girlfriend struggles to pick him up.

Take him to the hospital. Oxygen, cloudy thoughts, lungs are fucked, ends up incubated. Supposed to wake up two mondays ago.

We find out he actually had a stroke...we find out he actually had two strokes. Doesnt wake up. COncerned about him being a vegetable.

Hands down...the most painful thing I ve experienced,would not wish this upon my enemy.

The fear of not knowing if he is still there or not. The fear of having to make the decision to let go. He just opens eyes and looks around for a couple of seconds every three days but responds to nothing.

Finally, some light at the end of the tunnel. Two mornings ago, my brother videocalls me from where he was being incubated and as my FIL saw my girlfriend he seemed to break into tears for a few seconds there.

Apparently he has managed to mouth 2 or three words which means he is not a veggie.

One day will come, when even the scummiest atheist, will fall down on his knees and pray for help.

Btw, he did not want to get jabbed. But in Greece unjabbed oldies had to pay fines.

Mark my words. the day of the rope. WIll come.
