China has been actively depopulating itself for at least decades. Their "one-child" policy, that resulted in the murder of an estimated 400million+ babies (mostly girls, from my understanding) via forced abortion and post-birth infanticide, was an attempted depop strategy. The famines resulting from communist rule, that killed somewhere between 60 and 100 million+ chinks, were also hardly an accident. I'm sure there's more examples worth mentioning, but those two should suffice for now.
