If one were to love everyone and everything, regardless of who or what they are, regardless of what they do or say, the result will be generally indistinguishable from complete universal apathy.

But there will be a difference, and that difference is that the one who loves all will be constantly suffering, while the one who truly doesn't give a fuck will feel no pain.

The truest expression of love is not just behaving differently toward those whom you care for, but also in how your actions and disposition changes with regard to those who threaten the ones you love.

Hate is perhaps the most true expression of love, as only one who truly loves will be willing to break social and legal conventions in order to defend or avenge that which they cherish.

Someone becoming a hero for you could easily be doing it only for themselves, but someone who makes a villain of themselves in your name, they are only capable of doing that if they truly loved you.
