I think you're right about that... but it doesnt negate that at one point it was commanded. That's my issue, just because years later god changed his mind, doesnt fix the fact that at one point he was requiring children to be mutilated. Those verses are still in every pew, being taught at every Christian church.
If I said I used to rape kids, but then I changed my mind about it, would that make it any better?
