For over a decade I donated to St. Judes. It's kids and cancer thrown together. Totally worthy right? They'd send me a little envelope with this sad looking little kid and I'd pop a couple hundred bucks in it 3-4 times a year. Not a huge amount but still, my hard earned money.
So St. Judes is doing "well", they're adding on right. Whelp, okay why not, more space more kids treated right? Sure! Then they send me another request for donation. It seems they just need to build a space for the parents of these sick children to stay in while their kids are being treated. It's a studio apartment complex thing. A bed, table, bathroom tv and couch.
Wait? A kid has cancer, this hospital treats them for free(?) or at least at some reduced cost and they want me to donate so that the parents can live on site while their kid gets treatment? "it's good for the children and some families can't afford accommodations so that they can be near their child......."
Hold the fuck on. How many people do I have to support? I thought I was donating so that they could treat children? Fuck it, that's it. Last envelope I sent them.
