Yeah..."driver shortage." I was a long haul trucker, both haz-mat and tanker qualified for for 25 years. Ive got my million mile accident free gold ring too. Four years ago I said "fuck it" and went home. I snagged a job driving a roll off dumpster truck, and scored a $15K a year pay raise for doing it. The only reason why there is a "driver shortage" is that they are still paying the same wages now that they were in the early 90's. That is why most OTR jobs are now held by people who are painfully dumb, and don't speak much English. There's no driver shortage. There is a shortage of qualified and experienced drivers who are willing to work for starvation wages.
