The young family next door moved out after nearly two years. They were good as families go. Families create tension that radiates in all directions.
Alas a pretty divorcee with three gorgeous teenage daughters prone to topless sunbathing didn't move in - three blokes did (groan). Life can be so unfair.
So far so amazingly good though. The dudes are workingmen and very quiet. Come summer though. No sheilas about which is odd. The good thing about having more men about is it helps keep the, um, wild people in line.
Been getting a fair bit of stick on Voat/TLOL lately. Usual arseholes. The vax and stuff. I just try and help folk but they take it the wrong way. I say to them, I say: "don't you realise what the consequences are of your selfish actions in not masking up? (I forgive them not getting the vax).The hospitals get filled with covid patients who didn't mask-up which means there's no beds available for shark attack victims etc". But they just look at me blankly.The penny just doesn't drop! It will when they need to go to hospital when a funnel web latches on to them.

Russia intends to punish the US for supplying 16 (I think) HIMARS to the Ukraine including the more powerful (longer reach) M270. The punishment will take the form of Russia penetrating deeper into the Ukraine. In the Pacific the US is eyeballing China by sending its destroyers through Chinese-appropriated waters.
The Doomsday Clock says 100 seconds to midnight. I feel sorry for these young American men and women who'll be drafted. There drstrangegov is happily digging his latrine, enjoying his afternoon tea while looking out at the Montana countryside: "war, I don't see no war" he says "why do I need to fight and probably die in Europe". It's sad, it's goddamn sad. Us boomers have had it so well. No war in our lifetime. Ok there was Nam but that mainly affected our older brothers whose bedrooms we were pleased to get when they went off to fight.
Even if us boomers are on the receiving end of chinese rockets...well we had to die anyway and better to go out with a bang than be strangled by a deranged resident of an aged care institution.

Gandhi apparently said his independence movement would never have succeeded against any other colonial occupier than the Brits because of Britain's inate decency as a race, as a country. So it's not White Supremacists we need thank for anything but Britain!
