I've been in solitary confinement for 23 days with only myself to talk to ... so I talk to myself in posts and elsewhere and quite frankly I find myself an utter bore! One advantage of wearing a mask in public is that no one can see you talking to yourself. It will all end one day but will we be the same people or raving lunatics?

I'm in lockdown and the missus is 2.5 hours away in lockdown too. So there's no one here to talk to. As for posting, even though I'm a bore, I guess it's the challenge of posting and hoping someone will see you differently. I mean, you find me an interesting, worldly, bore, don't you?

Yes I've drawn those little stick figures on the wall and put a line through batches of four. You have to go through something to really understand it and I'll admit that when Melburnians went through their interminable lockdowns I didn't really empathise but now I can see why many of them have fled to the regions in the hope of avoiding any further lockdowns.

Correct for the Jewish one. The give away is the capital "I" instead of "i". Exciting isn't it? Makes me feel important. You can be 100% sure - sad to say I'm not that interesting! But I love it that they pick on me. Anything for attention. Yes it is pathetic but if you'd been in solitary lockdown (and I mean solitary) for 23 days (no end in sight) you'd be playing with your marbles too! I hope you have someone close in your life because those folk who live solitary lives permanently must have wretched lives. I don't know what keeps them going. Presumably they think the alternative is worse in which case I'd disagree.

E: I apologise for presenting to you unshaven, Helena, I've been letting myself go a bit in lockdown. It's 11.18 a.m. Aus time. I'll go and have a shave and make myself decent.

Really sorry to hear whats going on there. Just be philosophical about the isolation. If I remember correctly youre married so it can’t be too lonely. Think of it as a sabbatical. Being by yourself can also be really freeing. Sometimes its nice to be yourself and not worry about what people want from you. Just don’t drink too much. Teach yourself to whittle or something. Anyway this is all just theoretical advice and not at all based on personal experience with crushing isolation or anything.
