It's the false sense of security that leads to botnets and shills. The only defense we have against people who abuse places like this is our user base.

There was a short time at old voat where points counted in Anon subs. That was changed and for most of their existence points did not count in Anon subs.
There were a lot of half finished and fucked up changes at the end. Maybe one of them broke something at least partially and only you or a few noticed. That is very possible.

It was the exact same thing on .Co; shills/shitbags regularly used anon subs to farm CCP/SCP. I don't remember what putt did about it-- if anything. IMO SCP/CCP gains should be disabled on anon subs @system . It won't solve the problem totally, but it'd be more easily monitored since the usernames could be more easily observed by the rest of the userbase.
We already use pseudonyms as userIDs, the only thing that happens with the anonIDs is that shitbags get to hide being shitbags with less steps than forcing them to make new accounts without negative CCP/SCP regularly.
