The above is a few seconds from a Playboy video. A sprawling, up close shot of 1999 Playboy Playmate of the Year Heather Kozar's hairy snatch. Playboy videos are known for such shots. They do cause sexual arousal - and if causing sexual arousal is the intent that can be said to be pornography.

But then Ava Gardner pin-ups could be said to elicit much of the same response.

It's why I said somewhere else that different people have different porn thresholds. Unsurprisingly more conventional, older, religious, conservative people have lower porn thresholds. In my opinion it's only really clear cut when you get into penetration. Hardcore porn. That is to say what is clearly meant to be porn. Not a kind of art or simply erotica or something essentially girlie in a general sense. A little vague perhaps - but in some sense this is in the eye of the beholder.

I think if one goes by the Meese Report - which was some attempt to seriously examine pornography - porn is meant to offend, degrade, or shock. They had depictions of rape or something in mind. So even beyond entry level hardcore. And that report was issued pre-internet before mass porn exposure desensitized the public at that. They didn't include Playboy or Penthouse as porn. Would they include solo videos? Dunno. Those only really came into their own over the last 15 years or so with streaming technology. And with the desensitization that has occurred in the 35 years since that report was released I don't think it is a stretch at all that a report dealing primarily with the harmful effects of choke porn or harder hardcore fare would shrug its shoulders over this blonde diddling herself on a webcam. Personally I don't think it is degrading. Though some would. I think the tendency of beautiful women doing this is to glorify them in fact. She's certainly in all her glory as it were. One has a sense that a glimpse of heaven is being viewed.

Is that good or bad?
