It's doubtful we could defend our three aircraft carriers in the strait of Hormuz from Iran missiles and would likely lose at least one. That would literally change the perception of power throughout the world when people know their vulnerable. It's the bluff you kind of never want to see called the old illusion of projection of power only works if you think they're impenetrable.

Iran's show of force against the iron dome has shown aircraft carriers are now ancient technology.

In any future long distance war it's long distance missiles that will rule the skies and the battlefield. Even jet fighters almost don't matter.

Israel says they rule the skies over Iran but what I ran is showing is that's old thinking and it no longer matters. They can pop up and fire five or 10 or 20 missiles in 5 minutes from hiding places it doesn't matter if Israel thinks they own Iran skies because I ran can inflict heavy damage on Israel without its guys. It doesn't need aircraft.

And if one of Iran's missiles was able to take out one of the US carriers around the strait of Hormuz then all the carriers in the world going to different ports around the world to threaten other countries would no longer matter because the race to develop similar weapons by every single small country in the world would happen so quickly that they would no longer be threatened by aircraft carriers.

The biggest mistake Trump could make is to put those aircraft carriers in danger because only by them not being in danger is the illusion of projection of power still maintained. Once one is lost the illusion of America's ability to project power is suddenly gone.

RSS Any good ones you can share?     (technology)

Looking for big world events/news RSS feeds for my phone.
So far I have just 2,:
https://xcancel.com/intel_slava/rss
https://cms.zerohedge.com/fullrss2.xml

I want a rss for 4chan/pol since they always seem to know whats going on instantly. It would be cool if there was one that had the top 10 most replied to threads. Also I find godlike.com sometimes is first before 4chan and zerohedge. Seems like the news is coming hard and fast now it would be nice to have big news events in one place using a opensource simple rss aggregation.

Why wouldn't I ran just put reactive armor on the side of the mountain where their bonkers are to stop any bunker buster missile just like tanks do?     (technology)
submitted by Crackinjokes to technology 20 hours ago (+1/-0)

If you don't know what reactive armor is it's basically explosive that is strapped to the side of a tank so that when a missile that's going to hit the tank and would normally penetrate metal armor hits the reactive armor the explosion from the reactive armor explodes the missile before it gets to penetrate the armor.

So everybody's talking about this big bunker buster bomb that we the US has that only we can apparently drop because it's so heavy and it can penetrate 200 ft of Earth and I'm thinking to myself why the hell wouldn't they Iranians just put explosives on the side of the mountain so that the explosions blow the bunker buster bomb to bits long before it has any chance to penetrate the Earth at all

Just like a tank

Did you know that Microsoft hired autistic programmers?     (technology)

If you are wondering why Microsoft become infamous for their multiple problems after almost every update, it's because they hired autistic programmers devoid of logic.

Down below is an obvious example of normal IQ designer Vs autistic designer who looks like logorrheic or ESL.

Try to spot the difference between email UI designed by mentally sane designer Vs UI designed by autistic designer who looks ESL:

1st UI example for folders:

Unread

Starred

Drafts

Archive

2nd UI example for folders:

Junk email

AI should be cycling through physics equations looking for a way to build a warp drive     (technology)

It may take man thousands of years before figuring out how to travel faster than light. Someone build an App that makes Artificial Intelligence unravel, test, and procure physics in search of a means of making this happen. Maybe a REST API with ChatGPT or however the shit works. Have it keep pushing until it finds breakthroughs.

Trump is building all this AI infrastructure. May as well put it to good use for once.

Nobody wanted modular smartphones     (technology)

Apart of the tech nerds, people are not interested in modular smartphones. They prefer to buy new phones every year. All brands who were offering modular, have discontinued due to poor demand.

This year Fairphone presents another attempt to make a modular smartphone.
