This happened about 1983. I was walking down the sidewalk in downtown Santa Barbara CA.

There was a crowd of 12 women standing in front of a small Chinese restaurant.

Literally pressed up against the glass.

I stopped and asked a gorgeous blonde in the back of the crowd what was going on?

She said "Richard Gere is eating in there!"

I laughed and turned to leave and she was offended.

Can you imagine that guys life at that time? Women actually throwing themselves at him!
