You can also ping with punctuation now, so '@system!' or '@system,' should work.

This thread over at the SearchVoat Forum https://forum.searchvoat.co/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3138 raised the idea of a talk.lol API for updating SV with talk.lol posts and comments. Reason being there are some talk.lol comments missing from SV. Cannot detect gaps at that end because of your postid convention.

Are you interested in making talk.lol properly searchable? Obviously it doesn't need a comprehensive API just to stream the posts to SV, but something needs to be added to make it reliable. I'm just scraping currently, which is very inefficient and incomplete.

Any thoughts on this?

Ive PMed you the details so as not to draw voat wide attention to someone elses conversation. I put this post up in hcase this bug affects PMs and for other users with the same issue to comment.

I am going with bbcode, as I dislike the way reddit handles it. I forget how voat.co did it, but I believe it was bbcode.

So for bold you will use these tags

Italics will use these tags

Underline uses these tags

and strikethrough will use these tags

Adding text to links will come in the near future

I can understand not liking someone and downvoting them when you see a post. But when you stalk someone's account to downvote every comment they've ever made and will make, that is when I have a problem with it. There will be no rules or guidelines, if I feel you are abusing the downvote button, I will reverse every downvote you've ever made. Plain and simple. If you feel like you have a downvote stalker, PM me. If that turns out to be the case I will fix the problem ASAP. Already reversed the votes of one account, so if you have extra votes this morning that might be why. Also worth mentioning I removed the 10/10 voting limit. I know that seems counter-intuitive, but I received a lot of complaints and tbh I am not a fan of it myself, so we'll try this out instead.

Would be nice to be able to see the entire comment before posting. Makes editing so much easier than scrolling through that little window.
