As many are aware, we are heading for some challenging times. This subverse is going to be about how i plan on dealing with it, a personal blog of sorts. I am already several stages past planning and am now in execution mode for my plan.

I will escape the madness or potential of madness with peace of mind knowing I can cope with whatever comes.

I will post occasionally on my progress to get input from other voaters. I find many of you to be intelligent and value much of what I have learned here.

Plan in a nutshell. Learn to sail and buy a sailboat. Reduce costs by owning the land/dock/boat. While things are still decent in the world I will use the land as a homestead and live off the boat which will be generating its own electric and water.

A bit more detail

Buy waterfront land that I have water rights on so I can build a dock or moor. I have done this already. Land is located in texas off the mouth of a creek on the bay. Land is roughly 5 acres dry and buildable. There is 15 acres of land that had been eroded away to create a shallow and private cove so the property is 20+ acres.

Why I choose this location. Due to being a creek, the water has a very low salt content, great for boats. It also has a large enough tide difference to be able to beach some boats depending on draft and boat type. Will be important later for PMCS of boat. I bought the land outright after a couple years of searching just recently. Now I will sell my house and use the proceeds to fund the rest.
