At least one other country, notably Pakistan, was involved - and Iran views them as a rival. In 2022 when my Iranian handler was interviewing me the only other state he asked me about in terms of supporting Iranian policy besides Israel was Pakistan. There was very little detail to his Pakistan query as I just quickly ended it by saying I'd support them in exchange for Iran supporting me.

China, also one of my backers, and an adversary of the US as well as ally of Iran, was decisive here. Their efforts convinced Iran to accept the ceasefire. Simple as. And more or less on terms favorable to them.

The only thing the US got here was to avoid seeing its economy destroyed. For now anyway.
