I had heard about driving a stake thru the decapitated head of an alligator snapping turtle b/c of this but my husband told me of a video he watched just last night where the entire body continued to have crazy spasms while being butchered. Spasms may not be the correct word b/c the movement was related to external stimulation. The men indicated that this could go one for 3-4 hours depending on the size of the turtle.
