There is a strain of Cannabis Indus called "Couch Lock," it caused me to sleep 19 hrs a day for a full month .. there must have been quite a lot smuggled into this country - Australia - it was everywhere thru the 1990's I haven't seen it since yr 2000, there are a few other Indus strains that do a similar job .. I would advise chronic insomniacs to give the weed a try. Link.
