As I watch, yet again, everyone around me suffer from the flu and colds...

submitted by Swej_Ehtsag to whatever 2 weeksJan 9, 2026 23:36:37 ago (+20/-0)     (whatever)

I am just fine. In fact, I have been just fine since 2021, which was the last time I had so much as a head cold. I have no way of knowing if what I'm about to share is true or some other outside factor is the reason, but let me tell you what I changed in my life in 2021.

I decided to start eating healthy. I don't mean guv'ment chart healthy or fad diet healthy, but I stopped eating any and all food that had ingredients that I haven't seen or touched in real life. I went a step further and stopped eating food that was fed food that was unhealthy.

I've heard "organic" and "pasture fed" and "grass fed" and "air chilled" and the rest were all a bunch of bullshit fake terms. I have no way of knowing whether this is true or not, but I made it a point since 2021 to only eat meat that contained these types of words. I check every single food or drink that I consoom for any ingredient that I am not familiar with. I don't cheat and lie to myself about something being "alright" or "acceptable", if a product (ANY PRODUCT) has some bullshit ingredient in it, even one, I won't consoom it.

Here is basically what I eat every single day: Breakfast, 4 organic pasture raised eggs with organic red and yellow bell peppers, organic White mushrooms and jalapeno sauce with olive oil. For lunch I eat either, grass fed meat, grass fed air chilled chicken, fish caught in the Pacific ocean, or pizza with sauce (three ingredients) cheese that I shred and toppings like bell peppers, White mushrooms and olives. Sometimes I might have some chicken on the pizza. For dinner, I'll typically just have a piece of fruit. I also take some fiber everyday.

Been on this diet since 2021 and haven't had so much as the sniffles since 2021. I'm not some young kid either. I used to be known as the guy that was always sick. I remember once I had a cough that lasted 6 months. I have no idea if my diet has anything to do with it or it's just a weird coincidence. There have been a few incidents over the years during holidays or other events where I've eaten or drank things that aren't part of my daily diet and I almost always feel like shit for a few days afterwards.

If anyone else here is willing to test this theory, I hear it's a bad jew flu season this year, I'd be curious if you get the same results.

Did the same and generally the same result.

One thing though is vitamin D, it was grossly miscalculated how much people need. Posted about it earlier. At least get some sun

[ - ] WhiteCollarCriminal 2 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 00:37:34 ago (+2/-0)

How much do people need and what's the best source other than sun?

[ - ] BMN003 3 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 01:27:58 ago (+3/-0)

About twice the NIH's RDA, and the only good food source is oily ocean fish. Eggs and wild mushrooms are better than nothing, but it's not practical to eat enough of them to get all the vitamin D you need. The good news is if you live between 36° N and S you can get all you need year round from the sun. Past that and you'll have to make a point to bank enough in the summer by gaining a bit of weight while getting sun, then losing it again in the winter (it stores in your fat.) Or just eat the fish.

[ - ] WhiteCollarCriminal 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 02:04:26 ago (+0/-0)

I take four vitamin d3 supplements of 5000 units every day. Are they at all beneficial or am I wasting my time? I'm taking them for multiple reasons. I'm on a targeted immunotherapy for lung cancer which ironically damages my ability to fight off cold and flu. I've been 20+ years without the sniffles and I start this crap and I've got COVID and the flu within a month of starting. I'm temporarily living in the Northeast. What kind of fish exactly would you recommend? Thanks for the information.

[ - ] BMN003 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 10:31:33 ago (+0/-0)

I don't actually know if supplements are as good as good as getting it straight from the fish, but its all in the oil (fat) anyway, so probably. I've never been away from the deep South for more than a year so I've never had to try them. Just be sure the manufacturer's process is good (i.e. it's not coming from China.) 5,000 IUs should also be plenty, even if your absorption is low for whatever reason.

But, if you want to try adding fish to your diet and see what happens, your best bet in the Atlantic is going to be mackerel, with wild salmon being a close second. Preparation method doesn't matter, as vitamin D is surprisingly stable.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope it all works out for you.

There was a recent study that said taking vitamin d (2) actually blocked the biological processing pathways of a second form of d (3) that is produced by being out in the sun lowering levels. Sun is probably better

I don't actually know if supplements are as good as good as getting it straight from the fish

They aren't but they do still work.

even if your absorption is low for whatever reason.

That's the reason. Straight from the source it absorbs much easier. But the pills work if you take enough for your body.

Thanks and thanks for the information I'll give that a try!

I've heard vitamin d is beneficial for a multitude of things.

[ - ] Ragnar 2 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 01:15:22 ago (+2/-0)

Says who? I have stopped believing anything media tells us.
Of course sunshine is essential

[ - ] Anus_Expander 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 07:17:18 ago (+0/-0)

Hospitals used to put patients outside on sun decks. They knew sun is good in certain amounts. No more.

[ - ] ScheduledSuicide 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 10:51:37 ago (+0/-0)

If supplementing Vitamin D it needs to be taken with fats like Olive Oil (fat soluble). I think Vitamin D toxicity is a thing too, so be aware of what you're doing.

I haven’t gotten sick in several years either. We aren’t super strict with diet but we do buy a half cow and I cook a lot. I attempt to prepare a good variety of vegetables every meal. While we eat out a couple meals a week, at least we are eating healthy at home.

I think the thing that has helped my immunity is taking a good multivitamin made from Whole Foods, getting lots of natural vitamin D by going outside daily, and fasting.

Get rid of cow milk and those nut milk alts.
Mucus leaves the body very quickly when addressed.
Inflammation is a real word, many foods cause it in the body.
Good supplements like sea moss, dandelion and mushroom tinctures help ALOT!
Keeping up with legit parasite, metals and plastics detox/purge allow other correctives to work better and give better results.

I try to eat grass fed beef, organic chicken and locally grown pork. No clue where the vegatables come from as we grab those out of the bins in the produce section. for me: take 90 for life (https://youngevity.com/us_en/) daily, along with vitamins D, E, Iodine (2% lugols, 2 drops), B17. Exercise daily (at least one mile hike, up hill then back down, plus alternate resistance training: back / biceps, chest, triceps, shoulders, legs). Also experimenting with nootropics (methylene blue) and anti-parasitics (low dose fenbendazole, 3 times weekly following Joe Tippins protocol)

I see a lot of hype about "superflu" on line, hear a lot of people claiming that a flu this year has them down and out (I work remote, but daily meetings with people on teams complaining of bad flu).

I refused the mRNA jab back in 21 when I was a contractor for the biggest U.S. defense company that mandated it, so they took my non-compliance as a resignation (which sucked. Was making beaucoup $$$ at the time). The masks were everywhere back then and they seem to be making a comback. I recall walking into a state liquor store back in 2020/21, can't recall exactly. I pick up my 18 pack of Molson Ice cans and stand behind some douche nozzle waiting to check out. He turns around and says "IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO WEAR A MASK, CAN YOU AT LEAST SOCIAL DISTANCE?!" I smile and step closer to him. As he walked past me to leave, I said "enjoy your vaccine."

I never saw the world become so insane as it did back then and I have zero doubt it could get there again. Also in the past 5 years, the number of people that I know personally that have died has been astronomical (both parents, best friends from childhood) ..just unbelievable - all for different reasons but the common denominator with all of them was the mRNA jab

[ - ] Steelerfish 1 point 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 00:10:58 ago (+1/-0)

Same here with the diet .
I’ve been around sick band mates and co workers where basically everyone but me got sick.
Also lots and lots of Vitamin D3 with K2 and C zinc, echinacea,, quercetin…

[ - ] Trope 1 point 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 00:06:36 ago (+1/-0)

In ketosis. Everyone is getting sick but me. I’ll have to follow up with you on this one.

Also dropping weight each passing day. Turns out dairy prevents me from losing weight no matter how much acetoacetate can be measured in my urine.

[ - ] WhiteCollarCriminal 1 point 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 00:36:04 ago (+1/-0)

That's extremely interesting.

[ - ] Ragnar 1 point 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 01:16:36 ago (+1/-0)

After a threshold, losing weight will 100% make you more vulnerable to infection

[ - ] texasblood 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 08:04:31 ago (+1/-1)

Cow milk is for growing out baby cows in just a few months time.
Even cows stop drinking the shit, humans need to stop no later than puberty.
One doesn't need a Bill Nye to explain it.
(yes indeed, people will argue, cow dairy products is included)

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 11:20:06 ago (+0/-0)

Milk is how you gain weight or keep it. Lots of nutrients and fats in it. Whites are the only people who can handle it unsurprisingly. Of course that doesn't go for the sugar-filled concoction at the grocery store.

[ - ] PuddinTame 1 point 2 weeksJan 9, 2026 23:54:57 ago (+1/-0)

All I do is wear the surgical mask whenever I go outside, and use Ozium when I return. Oh yeah, I get to eat whatever I want. As of November 2025, it will be six long years with zero cases of flu, and zero bouts of colds.

[ - ] Ragnar 7 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 01:18:28 ago (+7/-0)

Don't forget the buttplug, it will keep you protected from aids.
And make sure you are wearing a mask in the shower to keep the water borne viruses out

[ - ] PuddinTame 0 points 1 weekJan 11, 2026 23:25:23 ago (+0/-0)

No sex allows me to remain blissfully unaware of your obsession with STDs. Been there (waaaay long ago), done that, and not feeling nostalgic.

If/when I ever get a "water borne" virus I'll consider it, but as I'm close to seventy, and never have...probably not!

Enjoy your love affairs with flu and common colds, while crying for sympathy here, but expect none from me. You know how to circumvent it, yet choose not to, so I've no doubt you take a masochistic delight in the suffering. Enjoy! Perhaps if you are a really good lil boy, you will be rewarded one day with a bout of flu turning into pneumonia, and experience the joy of several days in the ICU, with a crying bitchboy roomie that only shuts its yapper when asleep. Hey, you can hope!

Same advice as always. Almost as if it were an ancient formula passed on down the ages or something.

Eat right, sleep right, exercise, don't be fat, don't drink/smoke/snort/etc, get married early and stay married to one person, get outside, work hard, be White.

Recipe for success, even in such a tainted world as ours.

Personally, I travel for Christmas and I always get told some variation of "oh don't come near X, they/I have the cold/flu/covid/whatever". And I ignore that advice, hug my mom, and don't get sick. The most I'll get is maybe a bit of the sniffles for a couple of hours. It's amazing how tough a fit and healthy body can be.

[ - ] NeverHappened 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 10:37:06 ago (+0/-0)

I haven't really been sick since I was a heavy drinker 20 years ago, however, I just got knocked on my ass by something for the whole first week of this year.

We spent a lot of time with lots of family members and spent a tons of time outside over the holidays (unseasonably warm with lots of chem trails). My two kids still at home were sick but not too bothered but for me it was awful. I can't really remember being this sick before. My usual go-to of garlic and apple cider vinegar did not seem to help me much either like it usually does.

[ - ] Whatthefuck 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 10:06:31 ago (+0/-0)

Organic might be a buzzword, but it still means a lot as an official designation on food. I can't prove the companies claiming "organic" are being 100% truthful, but it is a a meaningful label and you will notice the difference clearly.

Random example, in the US and Canada they spray glyphosate on grain crops as a dessicant, right before or during harvest. Any grain product labeled "organic" is SUPPOSED to be 100% glyphosate free at all parts of the growing process. Is it actually? I don't know. But the non-organic is always sprayed, so it's worth trying.

I'm not even recommending eating grains, but I do enjoy a bit of oats with my eggs for breakfast sometimes, and I'd rather not purposely eat industrial pesticides when possible.

[ - ] Swej_Ehtsag [op] 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 13:04:26 ago (+0/-0)

About a year into only eating organic, air chilled chicken I come home to my son cooking some chicken. I decide to have a piece. It was super sweet and salty. Tasted like candy. I asked him why the chicken tasted so different. He told me they were out of the organic stuff so he just grabbed regular chicken. Usually eating gives me energy but I ended up falling asleep on the couch an hour later and waking up feeling shitty and hungry. I guarantee they are putting something fucked up in regular chicken.

[ - ] TheNoticing 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 08:25:36 ago (+0/-0)

I get a cold when the seasons change, literally twice a year, and I usually get pink eye once a year.

[ - ] Swej_Ehtsag [op] 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 13:08:04 ago (+0/-0)

I used to get a minimum of two colds a year pretty much every year of my life, until I changed my diet in 2021. Which is why it's so weird. I've had three co-workers out for a week each with what I assume is the flu. One of my kids is currently sick. My relatives are sick. I've been around them all and nothing.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 07:15:32 ago (+0/-0)

I am 59, eat whatever I want, get paid to exercise (I remodel houses), and cannot remember the last time I was sick. No headaches, flu, sore throat, NOTHING. Exercise and moderate sun is the key. Avoid cigs and booze. A FEW beers once a week can be ok, but total abstinence is best. I am fitter than most 18 year-olds. NO VACCINES EVER!! If you have a sedentary job, at least ride a bike for an hour a few times a week.

[ - ] SithEmpire 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 05:06:27 ago (+0/-0)

Does seem as if everything ingested has some body strain value, where artificial additives burden it more and leave less ability to resist a virus. If you stopped alcohol, I think that contributes to being more immune-ready.

Vitamin D is also the immune system fuel, usually needs supplementing in cold, northern latitude white people countries.

[ - ] Thyhorrorcosmic103 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 05:02:01 ago (+0/-0)

I have never had a cold or the flu.

That shit is for the weak.

[ - ] NoRefunds 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 03:45:39 ago (+0/-0)

Huh I haven't noticed. The only person coming over is our nanny 2 days a week. Other than that, we stay inside for the past two months.

[ - ] Ragnar 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 01:14:12 ago (+1/-1)

It's nothing to with your diet. I too haven't had a cold or anything for years. My diet used to be low carb and very organic grass fed etc but for the last few years I only stick to grass fed, pastured, and wild. And I also eat at restaurants once a month. I even have desserts.
All this diet shit is way overhyped.

I think some people just don't get sick for years because they don't encounter a new virus. And when they do, they get sick.

[ - ] Swej_Ehtsag [op] 0 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 13:13:13 ago (+0/-0)

I have been religiously sick multiple times a year since I first had memories. There wasn't a single year in my life where I wasn't sick. Then it just stops completely in 2021. I have lived in the same house for 15 years, worked at the same job for 9 years. The only thing I've changed is my diet. I should also mention that before I ate tons of frozen meals, ate candy, would drink mocha's from coffee shops and would have never bought organic anything.

[ - ] paul_neri -2 points 2 weeksJan 10, 2026 01:17:17 ago (+0/-2)

Exactly, Raggie: " people just don't get sick for years because they don't encounter a new virus. And when they do, they get sick."
