In the town near to my place there is a bean shed business. (A place where they bring in beans in trucks. They dump them on conveyor belts and people are hired to line up on both sides of the belts and inspect the beans. They remove anything that shouldn't be in your can of beans when you buy it in the store.) These jobs don't pay very much, as you can imagine. That being said. These haitians act just like you described. They have to walk from the bean shed where they live while they are here, to a store to do their shopping. People are always yelling at them but they drop their heads and scurry away.
