I have researched the origins of most of the groups in question here. Theres a lot of paradigm turnover in this field so I take it all with a grain of salt. But your friend may be right depending on your definition of White people. A branch of the white or caucasian family tree does seem to be the first people to settle siberia. These related people had already split off from Asians and their territory spanned from eastern siberia to western europe, where they were living off big game like mamoths. Kostenki-14 is a good example of a “white” ancestor from 35,000 years ago in siberia. The ones that lived in siberia diverged from Europeans and are termed Ancient North Eurasians (ANE) or closely related Ancient North Siberians. Malta boy is a good example of this group and he lived near lake Baikal 24,000 years ago. Its people like Malta boy that eventually settled the Americas. Personally I think 30,000 years ago is a little early but plausible. Some people like Malta boy also moved west into Europe and eventually contributed to modern Europeans.

The ANE who settled the Americas mixed with a more Asian population which resulted in paleo Indian people like Anzic child, but its not known where that mixing took place— perhaps in Asia or Beringia. There is also a theory that a previous American population predated these groups, known as Population Y, but the genetics of Population Y may be closer to abos than anything else. Still more modern asians migrated through Alaska thousands of years later it seems. ANE and related Europeans pioneered cold climate living. But in siberia they were largely replaced by more Asian populations. Theres still a trace of this ancestry in groups like the Ainu.

I think its important to understand that these people are white in the broadest sense and were our ancestors or relatives of our ancestors but did not have a modern European phenotype. That modern phenotype— light hair, light eyes light skin —didn’t really develop until the last 10,000 years.

The polynesians are a pretty modern east asian group that came from south china within the last 3 or 4 thousand years. Unfortunately they mixed with a few abo types which did not help them genetically. But there is evidence that they reached the Americas about a thousand years ago and mixed with the native people there.


Im not aware of these artifacts but I will look them up. I think if they are dated to 2000 years ago, they would not be the production of a non-Asian group as any “Europeans” in North America would be pretty mixed with the Asian populations by then .

There is the solutrean hypothesis as well, which claims that Europeans crossed the Atlantic on a ice bridge between France and Canada at the height of the LGM 20,000 years ago. Again, these would not be modern White people but they would represent a fraction of our ancestry. Some guys claim the Solutrean culture was the source of Clovis technology. Its not a widely accepted theory but I wouldn’t rule it out.


They found a venetian glass bead dated to around 2000 years ago in Alaska. The Americas were not completely cut off over the last 5 or 6000 years, with intermittant immigration to and from Siberia. Siberia definitely had copper arrowheads. Theres no reason to think this wasn’t an import. I dont know enough about the archeology to have an opinion on whether they were capable of copper smelting.
