...I've got my ass planted in my bear chair and mama bear is sprawled at my feet and she's munching peanuts while her 3 cubs are wrestling in the back yard...now she's pawing at my lap and here comes the cubs. This is where it gets rousing because they get agitated over one peanut...there's 5lbs of nuts here and 3 of them fight over the same one. Now mama's got her nose in the air and everyone is on high alert...and there they all go, so that means that there's another bear coming in and it's probably Brutus...these are all his cubs anyways...he was pretty busy with his role as "syre" last couple years.
So she's leaving by way of the north trail which means that...and there he is, big boy Brutus is coming in from the West trail and he's got himself sitting there in the midst of the trees and he's surveying the area. He will kill his own cubs if he gets that impulsive urge but he also knows that a female (sow) will give him the worst defensive battle that be would experience from any animal out there.
He's pretty much accustomed to the dogs out here, well two of them anyways, there's little yappy mutt and a Golden Retriever that have been around him since he was born, him and the Retriever will play around. Last year Brutus had the Retriever in an actual bear hug, the dog had his head buried right into Brutus' chest and they were rolling around, Brutus was on his back with paws in the air, as they do when they play, but because the dog is pretty old now it doesn't have that frisk anymore and got tired so it's just sitting there staring at Brutus and he's getting pawed in face so to keep playing but it just didn't have the energy. Brutus is 5.5 years this year and he's just getting out of his adolescent stage so he's still pretty active...but I did notice last fall that he wasn't getting exited anymore like he used to, he grew up fast and he's a big fucking bear now. I would think that by mid summer he's going to be 700lbs. Last year he was over 3ft wide at the shoulders and on his fours he was pushing 4ft, and when he stood up he towered over me to at least over 9ft...and he still has his ass planted on that path.
The bear chair is my personal chair out of the 3 that I have in the area where I sit with my bears...the other 2 are for my wife and now deceased neighbor who passed away 2 months ago,he liked the company of bears too
dude, don't ever trust a bear, ESPECIALLY one with cubs. They can turn on you in an instant and kill yo ass. They're not bros. Wild animals can never be trusted.
I do a lot with the drone, I can have it hover in place for 20min, then I have tripod (SONY) cameras and of course handheld ph....if I don't wipe clean with windex the phone after it's been licked then there's a real mess.
I would expect no less from you guys...if my bears ever turned on me then I would consider that there is nothing in this world worthy of my trust anymore, and to that I would give up on believing that I was able to judge any type of behavior be it human or animal...it's a given that humans can change the moment they are in a position of power or have an opportunity to profit, regardless of whom is hurt or what ever is destroyed, I've made a living and stayed alive because of my ability to read people and situations and the two elements of merit are "sex and cash", the true character of someone comes out when someone is entrusted with either or both...as for my bears, there's no greed in their nature, just survival and protection of their young...in all my years of interaction with wildlife the only animals I don't trust are coons and coyotes...I've got 3 Timberwolves here and I've walked with them and never have I had to pull my gun, the wife too, but the fucking coyotes, they'll circle around you looking for an angle of attack and if they're packed up then there's going to be trouble if you're alone...there was one time when I had 4 openly approach me in winter and I was unarmed but I was sitting on my 700CC Yamaha Ventura (110mph) with the engine off, when they got within 100ft or so they split up and I knew right away what was going on but they were still sizing me up...I didn't even get off the machine, I pulled the cord, it started and I fixed on the closest mutt to me and headed straight for it, the others bolted but I went after this fucker with death in mind and that fucker could run and it knew to stay on the trail, this was wide open field and I'm closing in, my speedo registered 60mph but with track spin I was probably 50-55mph and that fucker ain't slowing, by the time I got out of the fluffy snow and hit the hard pack trail that he was on I was close to the road and that fucker leaped off the bank of the field and spanned the width of the road to the other side and it didn't look back, I tried to run that fucker down but ran out of field...and most times, while on the snow machine, I'll have my AR, this time I didn't but if I did I would have plugged every fucking one of them....my bears have never been a concern....just as a point of interest.
@leveraction...I've got moose and deer here, the elk stick their common area and that's about 30miles east...I do not trust anything from the deer family, a tame horse is nothing but nervous muscle, they go wild really quick, walk behind a horse the wrong way and see what happens, deer moose especially elk are ready to go at any micro second...I don't know how familiar you are with moose but they are one powerful animal and I've seen them destroy a 1 ton pick up truck with non stop attacks, like one after another and the rack alone on top his head was a 5ft span with a pan-dia. that looked like garbage can lids, watch two massive bull moose going head to head and you'll be jaw dropped at the fucking energy in that match, not to diminish the power of a 1/4 horse or a Belgian I know the power they have but they don't have that explosive thrust like a bull moose has...I remember on one hunt I came across a yarding area and all along the hill slope and into the lowland for about the size of a football field is shredded and felled, not a fucking tree standing and the ground looked like it just got whipped with a brush-hog and dirt and rocks are churned into black spots and patches of bloodied hide the size of mamma cass' jewish scalp every where, even a handsize patch of hide and flesh hung up on one of the roots of a tree they bowled over, fuck they are vicious fighters but that brawl involved 3 bull moose, Im 100% certain in that assumption because only about 20min walk away we found the yard with the cows and a few young spike horns and calves but there was 3 massive bulls in that yard and one was laying on it's side up against the steep part of the slope, and the other 2 bulls were far away from each other and not grazing, the other moose were pigging right out on sugar maple buds like nothing happened, still don't know which moose won the right to bang all those cow moose but he would have been busy..AND YOU KNOW WHAT??...WE NEVER SHOT ONE MOOSE THAT DAY, all we wanted was for the each of us to bag a big trophy bull with a year supply of meat but it wasn't right to take the life of any of those 3 big ones and the cows are all hamburger and sausage, the calves weren't on my "kill list", and besides, my moose hunting grounds (between Wawa and White River Ontario) were/are the richest moose ground in Ontario and N. Ontario, North Western Ontario is richest....I didn't need to kill that day...like fuck, a man has to live by principle some times...especially when it comes to taking a life...particularly when that life was so hard fought for and in a type of battle that no human could compete on without a firearm....other than that I can really be a cunty prick of an asshole most of the time...according to every dame that latched onto me,and what I found strange is most every one of those dames always waited until that last moment to viciously shred me, even in high class dining establishments where I professionally and in a civilized manner, had to end the relationship, fuck, have you ever seen the damage that a 5lb lobster causes when it hits a 1,000gal aquarium???...a lot of people didn't know until that night...
