No offence but we in Czech laugh at you faggots who think VW and all the other car makers were somehow cheating you, the public. They were selling you better cars. They were cheating the retarded emission standards to give you a vehicle that runs better, has more power and better fuel consumption. I can take any stock DI VW diesel and program it to have more power, torque and better fuel mileage by removing the government imposed restrictions and that's before removing any physical components.

There should be offense, because preferring a poorly running car is dumb.

It's really, really difficult to compare efficiency numbers. I'm not sure how this number is calculated in. But in the end it's not energy efficiency per se but overall cost. How much more does the vehicle cost, how much is maintenance, how much do you pay per overall mile of travel. Do range issues mean spending more time and money than you otherwise would.

I like the option of having a vehicle I can fuel at home and not have to take to a gas station periodically. If you have to drive far, if you can't afford the initial outlay or setting up a proper charger at your house or future maintenance and battery replacement charges, if you're in a location that gets cold enough to cause charging issues, then it's nice to have other options.
