That's what it looked like to me. "Almost perfectly spherical" = not even spherical to the naked eye. At first I thought they were talking about something the size of a billiard ball which probably would be a sign of alien intelligence if it were perfectly round and had uniform composition.
Sounds like another Neil Ferguson who said a virus will kill billions and it turned out to be a lie. The treatment intentionally killed millions and killing more every single day.
