I don't believe in it because it's a contradiction. Bullets were too expensive to use to kill them so they transported them all by train (which if you think about the logistics of that... the manpower involved alone would make the bullet option pretty affordable), off-load them at camps with swimming pools and orchestra halls, gas them in non-airtight chambers, or was it house them in bunk halls? Or was that dependent on which camp they went to? Then after housing them, clothing them, and gassing them, ...into the oven they go. So, why transport them again?

I do bet that some Moshe Goldblattburgerstein made a killing giving numbered tattoos to jews as the "war" wrapped up.
