So does this mean theres more potential for residential applications? Like producing methane from manure or some other biomass and then having a small converter that produces methanol and will fit in the shed?

I guess the trade offs of a methanol run car will be similar to that of ethanol.

you can basically feed any organic matter iunto the tank, in which then special microbes eat it and convert it to gas which then runs a turbine that creates electricity.

what remains of the process can be used as fertilizer.

Thank you for the link. My German is still very very limited but it's amazing that there is this whole magic thing but it shows 0 results in the English version. fucking kikes man.

Searched just the word Biogasanlage translate and it came back bio gas plant. Which upon actually reading the German word is plain to see at least the biogas part XD
