This annoying fucker is a Turkish Van also known as "Swimming Cats" because they don't have any real fear of water. He is half-feral and has no love of the dog. He followed me 2 blocks to my car one day after work about 11 years ago and hopped in, looked over as if to say "Let's go home." I did try to find the owner(s) for a couple of months because it's a somewhat rare (and expensive) breed and despite being a bit feral he is actually pretty affectionate. I had no luck so I now own a half-feral cat that mourns at the door whenever I leave and reaches out to pet my face whenever he thinks I'm asleep. Unfortunately, he has a mild heart murmur that is noticeable whenever his constantly hungry self becomes a fat-ass so he's on a permanent controlled diet.
He's not an indoor/outdoor any more. Pure inside now that he has his own screened in porch. He's very happy with that.
I used to have a cat that was a lot like that. I could tell him "Go get So-and-so" and he'd run to them. "Go bother (ex's name)" and he'd run over and do his best to annoy her. Damn, I miss that cat.
Used to have a Turkish Van, named Achilles, who would hunker down, chitter, wiggle his butt, and start stalking me from 20 feet away. Would pause if I looked toward him, then continue creeping when I looked away. He would commit for many minutes. Eventually, he would make his “kill run,” and hop at me, gently grasping and biting an arm or leg, then go back to his kitty business as if nothing had happened.
That's far too adorable. Sparky is not gentle except when he's petting my face. I think he knows (or thinks) I'm asleep and wants to pet me the same way I pet him but he doesn't want me to know about it. That would be too embarrassing for his feral self to handle.
Beautiful cat op, love that third photo. That is pretty funny he hopped in your car like that, cats are known to chose people. You must be a good dude.
I had a male cat that loved water, he would chase the stream from the hose trying to catch the water. I miss him :(
Animals always try to choose me. My last dog (before the current) was a German Shepherd Husky mix. He was a "free to good home of friends we know" dog. When I went over to get him, he laid down by my feet as soon as I got there and refused to move. From that day forward, he made me his entire world and always watched me, stayed at my feet. It hurt when he finally died. I saw what was happening (liver tumor and he was determined not to show symptoms in front of me so by the time it was apparent it was just too late to do anything) and 6 hours later he was dead. I had to drag him on his bed from the living room to the foot of my bed (his favorite spot). He died during the night and the last thing he ever heard and saw was me waking up in the middle of the night to him staring at me and me saying "You're a good boy." I had to force myself to go to sleep because I knew he wouldn't have wanted to go any other way. Not at a vet, not me cuddling him or anything else. Fuck that next morning was so fucking hard.
I would love the shit out of a cat that chased water like that. My pup (German Shepherd) loves to chase water and goes fucking ballistic when I turn on the water flosser.
Buddy is a nearly silent cat. I have to get in his face to hear him purr. I adopted him a few months ago, and until recently I thought he had no voice. He has started yowling when he is hungry, so ain't nothing wrong with his voice...just not much to say I guess. Life is a whole lot better with a cat.
Have you ever heard of varnish? I highly recommend. Also, your land is not cultivated. Don't be a faggot. You can get rid of niggers and jews by using them as fertilizers.
Oh, that. It wasn't my house. I was renting. I was slowly working on making things better but it was low priority since I had to work full time and I was hesitant about dumping too much into a property that wasn't mine.
He mows nonstop. Friends and visitors will meow at him and tell them "Don't get him started" but by then it's too late. They done opened a can of meowmeow.
I have a dog that mutters and mumbles and grunts alot. When people are talking around him he will also sometimes join in and “pretend talk” especially when he wants attention. Its very peculiar. Its some sort of mimicry. When you stop talking he stops mumbling.
lol, that's awesome. I've caught my puppy a few times looking at me and just opening and closing her mouth like she's talking. If I notice and look, she stops with this stupid grin on her face showing her front teeth. I know she's doing it behind my back too. It's hilarious to see and notice, especially when she stops like "What? I wasn't doing anything."
I take it the cat is not her biggest fan. My last dog was not this vocal. This guy moans and grunts a lot at night when hes shifting around to get comfortable. You would swear it was a 70 year old grumbly old coot in the next room. He sounds just like an old man tossing and turning.
The funny thing is, when I first got him, he was so quiet. I swear he didn’t make a peep for at least a month. Shy. But now he is a little napolean and likes to make his desires known. By howling. In your face.
He’s also pretty agile and likes to steal things off the counter and table tops.
No. That cat is not a fan at all. Puppy just gets too excited and wants to wrestle and charge and stick her nose all over that cat and he just won't have it.
Vocal dogs can be amazing. I trained my puppy that it's totally cool to groan and vocalize while yawning. Now she does it most of the time when she yawns and she makes a show of it.
Thank you! Turkish vans have down and mid-length hair like all house cats but they don't have the longer hairs (guard hairs) so that makes him so extremely soft and fluffy.
Yeah, I have tried different things from scruffing him, pinning him, petting him, ignoring it, being loud, you name it. The only thing that made any impression is an instant smack (not hard, just fast). For a while, he'd claw or bite (viciously) and then run. After a while, he realized that if he wasn't mean, he wouldn't get smacked so the clawing is usually gentle now and the bites are tolerable. You still have to pause before petting him and pause as you stop, hold your hand still, and then pull it away quick because any other manner gets you shredded.
I told a past girlfriend very very early on never to pick him up. Turns out she was crazy but that's another story. One day she picked him up to bring him to another room. About 5 seconds later, her blood was everywhere. I said "I saw that coming." She had the nerve to demand why I didn't say anything. Aside from it being nearly instant and not having time, I had told her early on and I reminded her. She stopped blaming me but she was still mad at me. This is not a cat you pick up. Ever.

Good on you for that sort of patience. Any clawing / biting / excessive dickishness and I hunt his ass down. Persistent and aggressive reaction. He finally stopped after I cornered him and his only defence was to curl into a ball.
I've actually had to do that before with him in the first week I brought him home. He was just having a bad day or something and was going to take it out on me. He lit into me with all claws and teeth when I went to pet him. I cornered his ass down and gave him a good swatting (not terribly hard, just enough to get the point that he's getting his ass beat).
He never did it again.
I save physical punishment on animals for instances like that or when they absolutely need to get the point right now, the first time, and never forget it again. Things that are dangerous for them, for example.
Take my puppy, for example. She tried to dart through the door. I live on a pretty busy road and I always expect my animals to dart so I'm always careful which doors I go in and out of, how I'm going through them. I beat her ass and I have no regrets about it because she hasn't done it since. She gets far far too excited/friendly when she sees other people but she's 65 pounds of German Shepherd puppy and plays so extremely rough. I've already had to pin her to the ground multiple times by he scruff/collar and it calms her down a little until the next time she sees other people. I'm going to take her to crowded areas in a couple of weeks and just sit there and not let her go anywhere, not let anyone pet her until she gets it out of her system and learns that she can't do that. I'm concerned that we might about be at the point where I have to beat her ass to get her to understand that she can't do that with strangers, outside, yadda yadda but I'm sure that we can make progress.
You fags are turning this place into Facebook. I posted a joke meme about putting a cat into a dryer on Voat, that is the post I got the most down votes on.
