Supposedly the government is just waiting for California to be utterly screwed. The consensus is it and its population are absolutely doomed and we are just waiting for an inevitable legendary scale natural disaster at this point. The swarm is under the lake to the east of the Yellowstone caldera. There are fault lines under the lake, so there will be slight (M2 - M4) movement along those fault lines.
