There are tons of collectors of various historical currencies, but many of them refuse to deal with CSD because of extremely rampant counterfeiting of it. CSDs could be worth even more than they are now if it weren't for the counterfeiting.
A commodity desirable to many groups of people and in a fixed supply tend to rise in value. And while it may have a dollar value, you can't just spend it in most businesses.
It's not a currency though. Not a currency actively traded as currency. It's a historical object that is effectively a collectible and they aren't making any more. The supply of this desired historical object can only fall. It's a completely apples and oranges comparison. Its like comparing the value of a dollar to a roman coin. It's an object w value, not a currency.

It makes the point that the USD is worthless, even compared to a currency no longer legal tender.
