Funny story about that. Back when my cousins were learning to drive they took their mother's car for a joyride around the garden (lived in the country, so big garden). They went over a hill at speed, launched the car, bounced hard on the landing and tore the shit out of the underside. They quietly parked it and hoped it'd sort itself out somehow.
The next day mom takes the car out and it's rattling/dripping like crazy. She calls out the mechanic and he takes a look. Tells her it's probably just a worn out clutch and he'll tow the car and fix it up at his shop. He waits for her to go into the house and pulls the kids to one side:
Both you and I know that's not a worn out clutch. Next time you go for a drive take it easy on the hills.
I had a fender bender like that once. I was driving through slow heavy traffic, a guy muscled in ahead of me and we bumped. We both pulled over a little ways up. Initially he was pissed (small business owner from around the corner, I think he had a long day) but after chatting for a bit he calmed down. We exchanged insurance information but afaik he never reported it. It was only a tiny bump and one of my plastic panels got pushed out of place.
