Has there ever been a release that could be linked to a deadman switch? The only one I vaguely remember was from wikileaks and that felt more like a predecessor to the Q psyop.

Deadman switches are not invulnerable. It's possible they were able to compromise the switch prior to killing him. It's also possible that the switch has a delayed release. And it's also possible that it was a bluff all along.
