Harvard Law Professor Wants to Ban Homeschooling For Being ‘Dangerous’ To Children And Society

Elizabeth Bartolet who runs the Child Advocacy Program at the university, says that homeschooling poses “real dangers to children and to society,” that many of the parents “look to the Bible” instead of science for understanding the world, and that homeschooling should be prohibited except in rare, unique cases.

“The issue is, do we think that parents should have 24/7, essentially authoritarian control over their children from ages zero to 18? I think that’s dangerous,” Bartholet says. “I think it’s always dangerous to put powerful people in charge of the powerless, and to give the powerful ones total authority.”

Bartholet’s views are detailed in an article she wrote for the Arizona Law Review and summarized in a Harvard Magazine article, “The Risks of Homeschooling.”

In the summary of her 80-page article in the Arizona Law Review, it states, “This Article describes the rapidly growing homeschooling phenomenon and the threat it poses to children and society.

“Homeschooling activists have in recent decades largely succeeded in their deregulation campaign, overwhelming legislators with aggressive advocacy. As a result, parents can now keep their children at home in the name of homeschooling free from any real scrutiny as to whether or how they are educating their children.

Projection once again. This kike bitch thinks that Parents, the peopke who created and nurtured this child "shouldnt have 24/7 control over them"

She is using manipulative language to paint a picture that anyone opting to home school is doing so to conceal abuse, which is patently false. I want to home school to PREVENT my child being abused by the psychotic public system which thinks its ok to administer birth control, tranny drugs, and vaccines without my knowledge or consent (gillick competence, look it up, coming to a country near you).

Schools are the greater danger.

Marxist controlled schools are the greatest danger

It's the same old argument that the commies have pushed for over hundred years:

All children are government property.

The most terrifying possibility for a narcissist is:

People remaining outside of their sphere of control

Those people forming or having a low opinion of them

The most extreme manifestation of narcissistic personality disorder is communism, where the people involved attempt to control all of the speech and thought of the entire global population. The existence of families create the possibility of a group existing in a private circle of trust where independent opinions may be formed and voiced. Therefore the family must be broken up and turned against itself. Ideally the structure will be utterly destroyed.

All very true. This is one of the main goals of cultural Marxism, to destroy the nuclear family.

Even if that was their idea they shouldnt say this. Not with it spitting on what are supposedly traditional American values.

The second they spoke against parents teaching kids religion is the second they violated an old national value. The USA has its origins in a collection of freaks and undesirables from other nations. The great melting pot and what not.

The idea is we are all free people that are to give one another dignity and liberty until someone violates your own. That includes not trying to usurp the parental role or attack someone elses values and beliefs. Its supposedly part of why we have a separation of church and state. The whole multicultural sales pitch of everyone getting along despite being different if we can just mind our manners and our own business.

You can argue for or against the merits of it but this person violates these American values.

The message of adults being left alone with children including their own is an innately dangerous thing that must be preemptively stopped for fear of what might be dosent sound like it comes from anyone wise with good intentions towards society.

Home schooling is legal in every state. That was settled by the Supreme Court ages ago....

Yep, it's covered under freedom of religion, and since the religious can't have special rights the non-religious can do it too. However, some states make it very difficult to do; the parents have to jump through multiple hoops to homeschool - and you're right, Commiefornia is one of those states.

Depends on the state. In a lot of them, yes. BUT those tend to be the free-er ones anyways.

A few years ago, a kid was setting up bomb booby traps around Austin. He killed himself with a bomb when the police closed in. He turned out to be a homeschooled kid. I was anticipating fresh attacks against homeschooling, but no one ever mentioned it.

The rapidly growing homeschooling phenomenon and the threat it poses to our indoctrination of children and society.

If nothing else their mentality is reminiscent of what causes so many to be disgusted with jewish elites. I prefer to judge a person by their nature and deeds. I find this type of person displeasing regardless of what they are.

Perhaps its well intentioned. This does not excuse it. Since they made a point to bring the bible up I doubt it was well intentioned. From what ive seen the main ones with a desire to prevent the bible from being taught are those with an agenda or personal stake in ending its teachings. In modern times this is constantly those who consider it an impediment to flooding society with sexual degeneracy and literally insane deviants.
