Alternatively, "A History of Central Banking and the Enslavement of Mankind" and "The Bad War" are also pretty good starter kits. I haven't read them in whole though, just browsed through trying to decide which book to start on first.

'translations' 'editions' 'this one is better'

VY ARE YOU NOT LEARNING TO SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSPEAK ZE GERMAN? HEATHEN SCHWEINHUND!

[ - ] HughBriss 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 11, 2021 13:02:04 ago (+0/-0)

What is your point?

[ - ] i_scream_trucks 1 point 2.8 yearsJun 11, 2021 15:28:48 ago (+1/-0)

well i was trying to make a joke but i guess it boils down to instead of working out which of a bunch of different versions is a better translation maybe go learn german instead so you can read the original. thing is but... german isnt all that different from english to begin with, so the translations shouldnt be all that major unless its someone making their own opinion somewhere.

but like i said, i was just having a laff.

Oh, okay, I see what you mean. I gotta disagree that German isn't too different from English, though. It's a LOT more difficult to learn. For one thing, while English declines only a few nouns, German does that regularly, and where English has only one definite article (the), German has several, and the rules for their use depend on which part of the sentence they're used in, and have four difference cases, nominative, genitive, dative, and accusative. Additionally, German is an agglutinative language, which results in those impossibly long words one sees regularly.

So, rather than spend years of intensive study, I'd rather read a faithful translation by someone who's already done the hard work.

Surprised any exist in a book store at all. Unless they’re just sitting there unsold forever, you’re kind of taking the opportunity away from a seeker aren’t you?

Murphy translation is best translation.

That black soft cover houghton mifflin I bought first and it's unreadable. Translated by a jew.

[ - ] Splooge 3 points 2.8 yearsJun 10, 2021 22:53:41 ago (+3/-0)

Despite the name, Houghton Mifflin isn't jewish at all. It's sad to read their history and see how it slowly degrades as jews got their claws in over the years. The publishing equivalent of Walt Disney and what kikes did to his beloved empire.

[ - ] VitaminSieg 2 points 2.8 yearsJun 11, 2021 14:28:31 ago (+2/-0)

I didn't say published by a jew. I said translated by a jew.

[ - ] Splooge 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 11, 2021 18:26:02 ago (+0/-0)

Oh I know, I was just sharing what I learned.

[ - ] fightknightHERO 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 11, 2021 01:18:12 ago (+0/-0)

isn't the black cover comes with the (((annotations)))?

i'd avoid that version if i could

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 7 points 2.8 yearsJun 10, 2021 21:48:59 ago (+8/-1)

buys them except for the only accurate translations

purposely hands out bad crap

Why.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 3 points 2.8 yearsJun 10, 2021 21:57:43 ago (+3/-0)

Can you elaborate for the ignorant?

[ - ] Speakfreely 1 point 2.8 yearsJun 10, 2021 21:54:43 ago (+1/-0)

I can surely look into it myself but do you have any advice for getting a dependable copy?

[ - ] MuricaPersonified 5 points 2.8 yearsJun 10, 2021 23:10:00 ago (+5/-0)*

Archive. Stalag edition.
https://archive.org/details/nsreadinglistPDF/Mein%20Kampf%20-%20Stalag%20Edition

Hell, just download all editions there, along with the other material. You can always read up on the differences of the translations and make an educated decision on which you want to read. I still vote Stalag.

There's another, newer translation out there that is supposedly very good, but I forget the name.

Ps. I can't figure out hyperlinking on newvoat.

[ - ] Speakfreely 1 point 2.8 yearsJun 10, 2021 23:20:54 ago (+1/-0)

Thanks a lot for the helpful information!

[ - ] MuricaPersonified 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 10, 2021 23:58:46 ago (+0/-0)

Any time. There's also a few small publishers out there who have balls to print Mein Kampf and other fashy material. Once you find the edition you like and decide if you want a hard copy, remember that they are out there and are just a quick non-joogle search away.

[ - ] LoliNeko 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 11, 2021 06:41:50 ago (+0/-0)

New one is the "Ford" translation, which I heard is the best (over Stalag).

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 11, 2021 08:28:45 ago (+0/-0)

Yep, Stalag (and Ford to check) are what I read.

Which version do you suggest?
First one I read was the Houghtin Mifflin, but I’ve never heard anyone point out any specific examples of the shitty ones

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 1 point 2.8 yearsJun 11, 2021 08:28:59 ago (+1/-0)

Stalag, definitely.

[ - ] 3Whuurs 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 12, 2021 19:23:28 ago (+0/-0)

Any general or specific examples of theIr differences?

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 13, 2021 08:47:31 ago (+0/-0)

Some “translations” were done after the war and purposely changed the meaning of what he said. I just find it best to pick the English translation that was approved by the NSDAP itself.

[ - ] 3Whuurs 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 13, 2021 11:24:51 ago (+0/-0)

Fair enough, I agree. I wonder if there is any specific fuckery with the other ones.
What do you think about Hitler’s second book? I know it’s been translated by a Jew, but it’s hard to get any good info on it really at all, never mind about to accuracy.

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 13, 2021 12:23:41 ago (+0/-0)

Wow, been a while since I’ve read that one. Forgot about it, honestly. I’d have to go back and do some digging again.

[ - ] 3Whuurs 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 13, 2021 20:02:43 ago (+0/-0)*

Can’t be much to it if it is legit. Cause I think I only heard about it 1 time in 4 years of Voat
If you do find anything, let me know if you went through the same translation vetting

[ - ] lord_nougat 0 points 2.8 yearsJun 10, 2021 21:03:52 ago (+0/-0)
