Los angeles accused them of polluting and put them out of business. The yard sat abandoned for years [despite being among the best in the area, and right next to our marina] while the city kept making a big show about how they were having councils and committees discussing putting in a "brand new state of the art boatyard" there. Well in the middle of all this chinesevirus bullshit, they just suddenly changed their minds and decided they'll build some dumbass shopping mall there... and this is just after they tore down one a couple blocks away which had been quite popular!

Where the boatyard ends on the right in the old pic was landfilled in and built up and has big concrete docks on it. On a map, it's just east of cabrillo way marina. Or it was.
