I'm seeing stuff of various sites that suggest cats older than eleven years need a litter box with a low side just to get in and out. I'm buying the necessary things to adopt a senior cat, and thinking $100+ for a cat tree could be a waste of money and space. What are the chances a cat tree will be used?

What kind of treats are you using? Or do you just hit him when he pisses on the rug?
