Don't forget to do your exercise!

submitted by mannerbund to whatever 3 yearsApr 2, 2021 10:09:47 ago (+58/-0)     (whatever)

If you have not already, do some pushups, sit ups, jumping jacks, something. Get active.

When I first found voat I couldn't do a lot, but with even the SMALLEST amount of time you can improve a lot!

Squats are a bit tough, but I am doing them with 50 lbs of free weights in my hands, trying for extra gains and endurance.

I should try more sets though, I do ~1 set of each (minus sit ups due to back issues) per day, sometimes 2 sets as time permits.

weight lifting > diet > cardio

[ - ] Teefinyomouf 4 points 3 yearsApr 2, 2021 21:55:28 ago (+4/-0)

For looks yea. But a man in good cardio shape is harder to stop in the field. He moves quicker and quieter, breathes slower, and shoot straighter.

[ - ] eongoat 1 point 3 yearsApr 3, 2021 08:02:51 ago (+1/-0)*

I didn't mean weight lifting as in getting extremely buff/looks. Not all anaerobic exercise is for muscle gain. Muscles make cardio easier, it doesn't negate it. Alternating Anaerobic then Aerobic every other day is a great plan. And for those just starting out, don't be surprised by actually gaining weight on the scale initially (it's normal).

I went from zero to four pull-ups within two weeks. Other exercises I don't really like, but pull-ups are cool.

Excellent work! I avoid sit ups, and try to do body curls while on a bar. The ground on my back don't mix for the sit ups.

I don't do sit ups. I do running man with my back flat touch elbow to knee while doing them?

[ - ] RecycledElectrons 1 point 3 yearsApr 3, 2021 17:34:57 ago (+1/-0)

Push ups, sit ups, squats, and a long walk today.

I'll do better tomorrow.

You know what niggers like more? Defenseless White people. You know what jews like more? Defenseless White people. Being in shape has nothing to do with valuing muscles over brains. I learned my forefathers lessons and work with my mind and not my body, preventing myself from becoming crippled with old age. On the side I keep in shape so I can do what I need to when I need to.

I imagine you've some dyed hair, a soy drink, and a front hole, as such this place is clearly not for you.

I am so out of shape. Been out of the Army 6 years. Granted, I have MS, but I want to start getting active so bad.

Wanna do push-ups, but a few months ago I dislocated my shoulder pretty bad. I can still hear it crunch. I want to go knock out some push-ups.

[ - ] Jiggggg 2 points 3 yearsApr 2, 2021 20:03:24 ago (+2/-0)

Sucks man. I just had a bad hip injury that set me on the bench for about three months! It's tough. Hope you feel better soon.

You can still walk/hike!

[ - ] motzfeldt 1 point 3 yearsApr 3, 2021 02:15:20 ago (+1/-0)*

I hit the gym every 2nd day, and go for runs on the in-between days. Today I'm gonna do some bench presses, T-Bar rows, hack squats, overhead extensions, lateral raises and maybe some EZ bar curls.

I discovered national socialism/fascism early 2020. In all the years prior to that I had gone through various political worldviews, most of them being left-wing. In those times, I had tried my hardest to get a regular work out routine going. But it never lasted more than 2-3 weeks. My hedonism and previous affinity for weed would always win it.

3 months after discovering fascism? Quit porn, quit weed, quit getting drunk, quit gaming, eat way better, read a lot more and have been exercising 6 days a week. It's amazing what a change in worldview can do.

Start of covid1984 bull shit and a girl break up was around 210. Down to 180 can bench 275 and ran 10 miles in an hour and 51 minutes longest I had ever jogged... took about two weeks of depression diet at the start and it was pretty good after that lift Monday wedensday Friday.

[ - ] CamelsMiller 0 points 3 yearsApr 2, 2021 21:36:50 ago (+0/-0)

I've always wanted to do this, but I have atypical https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/adult-stills-disease/symptoms-causes/syc-20351907

https://rarediseases.org/rare-diseases/adult-onset-stills-disease/

I was diagnosed in 1989 with it, and had 3 separate major instances since. I don't have the rash, but everything else including heart surgery for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pericarditis

I also have noticeable https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensorineural_hearing_loss in my left ear from this.

I can sometimes exercise and be OK, but other times even 10 push-ups will put me in pain for a month. What really sucks is all the time on Prednisone that FUCKED my body. So basically I do what I can, but get severely pissed when people say "just get in shape". I ran track, football, and wrestling before it hit me back then.

[ - ] mannerbund [op] 0 points 3 yearsApr 4, 2021 15:42:45 ago (+0/-0)

Clearly exercise is not meant for you, but bare in mind, pushing others to improve where they can is not a jab at you directly, or indirectly.

[ - ] CamelsMiller 0 points 3 yearsApr 4, 2021 22:47:53 ago (+0/-0)

I don't take it directly, I just sometimes want people to know it isn't always an option. I used to read FPH an all that years ago. 99% of those people have no clue or care about people like me that literally can't just go out and "get in shape". Hell in US high school you need so many usual credits to graduate, I missed 2 years of mandatory gym class because I was medically obligated to not participate. That's why I posted, and finally commented on this matter. I tried back in the day with the major FPH places, but no one cares about people like me.

After the amount of weight I lost I will never take the ability to move fast for granted again, ever. I went on a fast walk for 40 minutes down a nice nature trail about 10 minutes away from where I lived today. Headed to the gym again on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I think I overdid it at the gym on Thursday a bit, because I nearly slept through all of today. I went to the maximum incline and maximum resistance on the elliptical machine to prove to myself that I can conquer that "stress test" that they give you at the doctor's office. When I was super fat, I got my heart rate up to 220 on the treadmill. Now, I have trouble getting it past 180. The doctor can't believe how well my heart activity has improved. My lung capacity has significantly increased. I cut out vaping for a couple of weeks. I plan to go back in a couple of weeks after I've given myself enough of a break to reset the habit. I've never regretted quitting pipe smoking. Even now, I plan very carefully when I smoke and drink. I have friends constantly asking me for advice on how to manage addiction. I tell them that I'm not addicted to anything because I have the willpower to do anything. It's easy to quit. Sometimes I'll just do it randomly. Voat inspired a lot of grit in me. I can't thank you enough, goats. Just because of you assholes, I'm going to cross the finish line.

Benching your own weight is a good bench mark. Keep working on the hand get it as strong as possible. I played college basketball and kept getting stronger and stronger so that's the main reason I got to such a high bench.

Any ways keep it up being able to run a 2 miles is better then 90% of Americans I would guess
