I have no opinion of this story. I only just found this this morning. I have no idea if this is legit or she was just a scammer or a nutjob or what but it's a pretty interesting story I think.
User points are gay. They encourage bad behavior in several ways. There is the brigades up and down of course. There is also the more insidious nature of gamifying things. Gamification is a route of addiction. How many come here when they should be doing something else? No one will admit it but you like that dopamine hit when your counter creeps or better jumps up or down.
Should Voat be promoting addictive behaviors using proven mind techniques like gamification?
So. How would the page work? It's easy. You still vote in order to drive things up and down the page. You just don't collect points to the user acct.
Acct restrictions. There are other ways this can be handled. I can think of a couple but I wanted to keep this kinda short and its already growing. There are other ways to handle 'reputation and trust' w/in a web community though.
User accrued points are unnecessary, cause internal conflict and are unhealthy for the users themselves. End CCP

First, yes the Nazis are lumped in here. So are the Russian Communists. Try to ignore that and listen to what is being described. It is a very accurate description of today. Right down to the isolation of the corona lockdowns.
At the end of part 3 are a few general solutions. Very general and Im not sure how much help they'll be. OTOH Voat can be considered a part of that. It's a parallel society, outside of the totalitarian society.
