Refusing to buy their crap won't work. They haven't needed you to buy their crap in decades, that's only a side business. Their primary business is producing propaganda, and their only customer is the central bank.
They produce some woke DEI crap, and blackRock gives them a nice big loan of fed money every few years. Then by the time the loan is due inflation has killed half of it and the other half gets taken care of by the next loan.
And you end up paying for it all through inflation.
If they segment the internet then there can't be consensus anymore, or at least not reliably.
I was under the impression lightning was only administered by a single company, so it was vulnerable to whatever governance decisions they make. Is that not the case?
At any rate I keep hearing about how great lightning is, but any time I actually move bitcoin around no one's using it. So I get stuck with the ridiculously high fees and confirmation times.
Litecoin is basic but it works, that's why I use it. It's not the only coin I have but it is good. I also use it as a default medium of exchange when I'm trading. As in I'll buy litecoin then trade it for whatever I actually want.
Lightning is functionally centralised, so it defeats the purpose. Besides nowhere I've actually tried to use crypto accepts it (likely for that reason).
On the other hand almost all of them work with lightning.
I think a proper decentralised solution to scaling will come with sharding.
Is it? They certainly want everyone to think politics is a roughly 50/50 split and they're just tipping the balance each time. I suspect they're actually a minority and the vast majority of their "support" is astroturfing and fraud.
Not only that, it was never bad enough to shut down BLM protests. The Taoiseach had the gardai come down heavy on anyone protesting the lockdowns. They were using riot tactics on people who weren't even shouting loudly, let alone rioting. Even when they couldn't get away with that they were going around taking everyone's names and using intimidation tactics to imply they were committing a crime without actually charging them with anything.
Then BLM went out for a march and... nothing, just some words of approval. This is the leader of a supposed "center-right" party.

It took me a few minutes to realise they were empty. I was trying to work out if it was CG or something.

Let's be honest, it was probably an update to the hate-speech terminology list.

Cash can be inflated out from under you, or just whisked out of legal value with the stroke of a pen.
How much is the french franc worth now, or the deutschmark?

I'm talking about the cost and speed of bitcoin transactions whenever I make them.
/v/Screenshot viewpost?postid=651a57e67d3e3
Broc_Liath 3 points 6 months ago
Usually between $5 - $20 per transaction, and each transaction takes hours. There are much better options as "digital cash."

That's a tell in and of itself though. Like if an actor suddenly went from schnoz-city to snubville it's highly likely they're a crypto.

Caucasians are pretty much unique in having vertical ears.
